Good food, decent pizza, and a lovely outdoor setting in Palermo, Sicily

The Bellini has one of the choicest settings in Palermo: tables spread on the piazza in front of the floodlit domes of La Martorana. Set into the entryway of the defunct Bellini theater, it's undoubtedly most popular for its pizza (not bad, but not outstanding) and live keyboard music on summer evenings.

Bigger appetites will enjoy the pasta con sarde, couscous smothered with squid, shrimp, and mullet, or rigatoni pomodoro e melanzane (pasta tubes with tomatoes and eggplant), to be followed by a costata di maiale (pork chop), fresh fish of the day, or involtini of swordfish or veal.

Friday at lunch, they offer a seafood-based tasting menu that's a steal.
